moratorium this week, Councilman Tim Wilson worked against them, attempting to
reopen the door to residential development.

Fred Dill, 88, of Carmel, plans to purchase a 45-acre tract on Route 6 that is
owned by the Grossman family of New York City, and combine it with up to 74
acres of adjoining properties that are owned by Putnam County, including the
former racetrack, or fairgrounds, site and land once owned by St. James the
Apostle Church.

of Town Land on Route 6 in Hamlet of Carmel
The Town of Carmel is entering into a contract with
Ridgefield developer Paul Camarda to sell 19 acres of Town-owned land on
Route 6 in the Hamlet of Carmel.

An old farm that is earmarked for 300 town houses
could become protected open space under a settlement being discussed by Kent,
New York City and two development companies.
